Genomic medicine is the basis of 4P medicine. It is preventive because it allows to detect people at risk of suffering a disease and offers tools to avoid it. It is Predictive because genetic studies detect the risk of suffering a disease in the future. It is personalized because it puts the focus on the individual, treating the patient and not just a pathology in a generalized way. And it is Participatory because the patient collaborates in making decisions about their health.

It is estimated that 1 in 3 people will develop cancer throughout their lives, between 5 and 10% are hereditary. Knowing the variants related to this type of cancer allows acting in time to reduce this risk or detect it early.
